I'm not a big fan of the reflective effect. I prefer something more flat, but I love the burgundy color. The fact that the x is cut off is a bit weird though. The logo will probably used against white a lot, so it's probably better if the X doesn't get cut off.
I like the black and burgundy gloss as well--it looks like a polished motorcycle or vintage car. But I don't think the truncations on the X will be a problem. Even against white, your mind will fill in the lines just fine.
My only complaint is that it doesn't scale down too well; the shine becomes flat black and the XMMS2 is unreadable. My suggestion to you is to submit this coupled with a version that scales down better. Maybe remove XMMS2 and add a little more bubble so it still looks shiny at 16x16.

It looks more like of of the billions of XMMS1 icons.
