Tape by Michael Gil de Muro

Here's a submission that Tobias somehow missed while posting yesterday's batch.

the xmms2 is well done, I esp. like the ms part of it. Perhaps give more polish between the two "m"s, even if it's less readable?

the circle thing looks a little bit lonely in the smaller icons. perhaps some effects on that are needed, or rotating it a bit on the z axis?

I think this one is very good. the splash also looks pretty cool.

Well done. I like the purple, but it might stand out a little better if it was a touch brighter. Also, I'm not sure if it was the intent, but the 'l' in 'player' seems to push up the leg of the 'm'. Maybe with a little tweaking the other 'l' in 'digital' could push up the corresponding leg of the other 'm'. Just a thought.

Very nice, the colors are interesting. The wheel logo could maybe be improved a bit more, and I find the two "m" a bit unintuitive to read, but otherwise it's pretty good!

I really liked the quality of this submission - I was impressed by the effort Michael put into the 'preview' to show off how his concept could be used in various ways.

Regarding the wheel.. IMO, if you forgot for a minute that it's supposed to look like a cassette tape, you can imagine it looks like a 'core' or 'hub' of some kind, with 'ports' or 'spokes' radiating out. Kind of like the xmms2 daemon with ports waiting for clients to connect. :P

Hey! Let's just change every "playlist" to "mix tape" thoughout xmms2.

The one with two tapewheels with "xmms2" inbetween is my favorite.

Hello ! Befor all, I think it's a good work. But I'll change the colors, cause there are too dark for me. The best logotype is the one with two tapewheels, i agree with anders. I don't like so much the splash... It's less fresh than the logotype... I wait the polish :)

Very strong look, I especially like that the colors give a coherent feeling and the logo is easy to remember. However, if it were not for the post title, I wouldn't have guessed it was a tape wheel, except on the splash screens, where it's more obvious. I really like the splash version of the tape wheel!
I'm also bothered by the right leg of the second 'm', which looks incomplete.
The opposition of a tape logo and the text "digital player" is also confusing.
So a very good submission, but the logo could be improved a bit IMHO.
I don't much like the 3D version though.
