Nice, I like the symbol! It's also reminiscent of "2", but not too explicitly. Maybe the text "Xmms" could be made just a bit more readable, but otherwise I like the splashy feeling of it. The only detail that slightly bothers me is how the gradient is cut at the bottom of the neck on the lower logo; maybe it could be smoothened somehow. Otherwise, great job really, simple but catchy!

the gradient was made like that to give a somehow 3d feel
as for the xmms text (especialy the x) was made like that to resemble something like grass
