Very cool. I would take this in a heartbeat as the new website logo. But it needs a companion that can be used for icons.

Hi! In regards to your statement about the icons, what direction were you thinking? Having the XMMS2 more readable? Making the icon scale down better? How & where can I best improve it?

Thanks so much for the feedback!

Having "X" *plus* "XMMS2" is a bit too much. It's also very square and polished, whereas I'd imagine xmms2 more flexible and lively. It's clean, but quite static. Shiny, but it doesn't really take all the space as much as it could.
Note: I'm not sure it's a good idea to have a pitch-line on the logo. We could always keep that aside.

Ryan,
Take a look at some of the posts from today. There are multiple submissions from the same authors that provide a nice logo for a website or "about" dialog box. And then there are minimal versions of the same logo for use at small sizes, like 16x16, used in XMMS2 clients.

I like the logo as-is (or maybe with the orange XMMS2 text underneath the X) for the website but the 32x32 and 16x16 renderings make the XMMS2 text look like an unintelligible orange blur and the tagline, too, of course. Some of the shine is lost as well though there probably isn't much you can do about that. The X is the most prominent and recognizable shape in the large logo, use that alone for smaller icons.

Thank you for the great submission. Keep up the good work!
